The Prospect Training Course (PTC) is a comprehensive 6-month program designed to prepare prospective members for Full Membership status within the Ta-Seti Nation organization. The PTC is tailored to introduce prospective members ("Cadets") to the core values, principles, and structure of the Ta-Seti Nation, and prepares Cadets to select and serve in one of the two membership sectors:
This training process allows Cadets to choose a pathway in the Ta-Seti Nation that aligns with their interests and strengths.
Divided into month-long training sessions known as a Tour of Duty, the PTC begins in Tour of Duty I with Foundations of Ta-Seti Nation, where Cadets learn about the organization's mission, vision, history, and the roles of Medjay and Nubia. This foundation sets the stage for understanding the significance of loyalty, duty, and honor—key values that guide the community. Subsequent tours build on this knowledge, offering deeper insights into the ethical and practical aspects of membership.
In Tour of Duty II, Cadets learn about Organizational Values and Code of Conduct which emphasizes the importance of integrity, respect, personal courage, honesty, and perseverance. Cadets are introduced to the Ta-Seti Nation Honor Code and Code of Conduct, learning how these frameworks govern behavior and interactions within the community. This segment also covers the ethical expectations for members and the importance of upholding these standards in all activities.
During Tour of Duty III, Cadets learn about Leadership and Community Engagement, where the focus shifts to understanding how leadership skills are crucial for engaging with the BIPoC community. Cadets explore the qualities of effective leaders, the specific roles within Medjay and Nubia, and the strategies for organizing community events. This segment encourages active involvement in service and leadership, equipping Cadets with the basic skills needed to contribute meaningfully to Ta-Seti Nation's initiatives.
Tour of Duty IV comes with learning about Service Skills and Practical Applications provides hands-on training in essential service skills, such as communication, conflict resolution, basic first aid, and teamwork. Through practical exercises and simulations, Cadets apply what they have learned in real-world scenarios, preparing them for active roles within the organization. This segment ensures that members are not only knowledgeable but also capable of executing their duties effectively.
Tour of Duty V involves Integration and Preparation for Full Membership, as Cadets consolidates all the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the course. Cadets reflect on their personal growth, prepare for the responsibilities of Full Membership, and engage in peer discussions. This segment also includes final assessments to evaluate readiness for full integration into the Ta-Seti Nation community.
Concluding the PTC, Tour of Duty VI involves an intensive 4-day in-person training weekend that solidifies the lessons learned during Tour of Duty I-V. This training weekend involves leadership exercises, team-building activities, and community service projects, culminating in a final evaluation. Upon successful completion of the PTC, Cadets are eligible for Full Membership, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to thrive and lead within the Ta-Seti Nation.
